Please make sure you are looking at the correct film
There are two different movies listed here on Amazon which have very similar titles: "Tales of the Dead" 2008, directed by Tim Rasmussen, Jr. The second film is "Tales of the Dead: Grim Stories of Curses, Horror and More", 2010 directed by K. Yildirim. Amazon has the exact same user reviews listed under both titles. I have contacted Amazon and requested a correction.
I saw the 2008 Rasmussen film and liked it. It is also an anthology of 5 separate stories with no connecting narrative. It is very low budget, but very imaginative. It contains enough gore to satisfy most, not all, gore fans and quite a bit of sly, dark humor. Some of the effects could have been improved or done more simply if the budget would not allow anything else. At least two effects are done so badly as to be distracting from the story. The stories are:
"Burlap" - a woman is stalked by a terrifying creature.
"Reckoning of the Werefolf" 3 young women stranded on a country road meet up...
Entertaining...
I've seen this movie twice now. Great visual effects and make up. Many places made me laugh! I'm not a big horror movie fan, but this movie kept me entertained. I recently had the opportunity to meet the director of this film. All I can say is what a down to earth, nice guy. I will probably be first in line to see any more films he might direct.
