Great season despite the critiques adjacent to this review
I'm sorry, I really need to intervene here. I have become a big fan of the show and the reviews thus far do not reflect (in my opinion) what this season was about. I admit that season 6 was more enjoyable, people were friendlier to each other, and the Voltaggio bros. stole the show. But this season was very good; I think that there was much more of a balance between individual talents and this is an asset since it keeps the suspense going. People had more of a subtle humor to them (Ed and Angelo were quite sarcastic with each other, yet not in an offensive manner). The finale in Singapore was very interesting to watch (in particular Padma's reaction to Ed's banana fritters when she takes the first bite). Yes, people were meaner to each other in general, I will agree with that. I do also try hard to understand where they are coming from; in competitive fields, you do have to become your biggest cheerleader, and narcissism is a shield which, when stripped, unveils tremendous...
This season sucks and so does the streaming quality. Why stream when you can get DVD quality for the same price.
I just purchased the streaming version of Season 7 and 9 in HD and the quality IS NOT HD.
It's worse than SD, standard definition almost. The DVDs are the same price and at least
you actually get something and the quality should be better. You can stop it, start it, keep
track in the chapters and titles and instantly skip ahead or back. The option to buy it in SD
for $24.99 or HD for $29.99 is misleading because the quality is bad in both and not even
DVD or broadcast HD quality.
love this series
as a foodie it is a pleasure to watch this series. D.C. also has many fun themes never seen before.
